UKRAINE WOMEN’S AMPUTEE FOOTBALL NATIONAL TEAM PARTICIPATES IN PRESTIGIOUS TOURNAMENT IN WARSAW

The Ukraine Women’s Amputee Football National Team made a достойний debut at the prestigious AMP Futbol Cupin Warsaw, held on June 28–29, writing a new chapter in the history of Ukrainian sport.

The team, which is the third women’s amputee football national team in Europe, demonstrated remarkable determination and an incredible fighting spirit.

In their first match, the Ukrainian players faced the national team of Poland — the bronze medalists of the 2024 World Amputee Football Championship in Cali, Colombia. Although the match ended in a 0–3 defeat, it was never just about the score. It was about the courage to step onto the field, about a team that fights with dignity and begins to write its own history.

In their second match of the AMP Futbol Cup, the blue-and-yellow team once again faced Poland. Despite a narrow 0–1 loss, the Ukrainian side delivered a confident performance, showing strong defensive organization and determined attacking play. The players remained resilient under pressure while successfully imposing their style of play.

Special recognition was given to Ukraine women’s national team goalkeeper Oleksandra Zolotukhina, who was named Best Goalkeeper of the AMP Futbol Cup by the organizers of the international tournament in Warsaw. This award highlights the high level of skill, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by the Ukrainian team.

This performance marks an important step in the development of women’s amputee football in Ukraine, as the team showcased significant potential and a strong desire for future victories.
